One year ago today we saw your sweet little face for the first time. How little you looked to us. We could only imagine the joy you would bring ...and here we are...one year later beaming with pride to have such an amazing daughter. We love you Maddie and are so very thankful to have you in our lives. You make us smile every day, enjoy the lighter parts of life, appreciate the little things and slow down to take in all the wonder through your eyes.

We love the way you walk around the house saying "Maddie happy", practicing your letters, and telling Max "no". I love putting you to bed at night and asking if you want a big or little bite and hearing you ask for "wawa". Daddy loves the way you rub his scratchy face when he hasn't shaved. We love watching you run around naked and squealing...boy do you have a high-pitched giggle. We love the way you say "up" for us to hold you, lay your head on our shoulders and pat us on the backs. We love how you love your possessions and take such good care of them. We love how you love your Poppa and how much he loves you. We love how you say "I wa wa" for "I love you" and "Do Do" for thank you...frequently on your own. We love how well you eat...anything from peppers to ice-cream. We love how tiny you are...how beautifully you fit right in our arms. We love how you carry on conversations with yourself. We love how hard you try...we only ask once and there you are trying your darnedest to do. We love how ticklish you are...especially under your chin. We love that you are not afraid...you trust us...and for this we are also grateful. We love your love of water. We love that you can play on your own and be content. We love that you love to play with us and be content. We love hearing your sweet little velvety voice saying "Mommy" & "Daddy". We just love everything about you.
