Happy Birthday Abbie!!

Starting to get into this whole clown business - initally a bit scared.

We went to Abbie's birthday party today - such fun. She's a big one year old - such a big day in a parent's life :) The weather is turning - first day folks had to wear a sweater. Fun in a park and with Abbie's mother - who is a professional clown in her own right! I managed to overexpose most pictures - some salvageable by changing them to sepia. I also have to declare she is offficially out of most 18 months clothes - except for a few pants - and now is fully in 24 months ( I know - she's turning 3 in December ;)

I just love you...

Everything about you...I can watch you for hours and our conversations are the ones I enjoy most. I love your little face, such fervent expressions, your sense of humor and your velvety sweet voice. You are so smart...and I love your already over the top kindness - your ability to share and help and your hugs that turn a frown upside down. I love your love of learning. I love your patience. I love your independence. You're my daughter, my friend, my teacher. I love you.

How a Year Makes a Difference

One year ago today...and Boy How She's Grown.

Still as sweet as could be.

Then just beginning to speak and now I hear

"Don't worry about it Mom" and

"That's my favorite" and

"I'm sorry" and

"Now I'm 2 1/2 but in December I'll be 3 with a Barney cake"...

Now I know why parents say it goes by too quickly...
